  • “I’m running because I want to continue to deliver for the people of our commonwealth so that we can make progress,” [Casey] said.
  • Casey spoke to the crowd inside Mi Casa Su Casa Cafe at a campaign event organized by members of the Latinos for Casey coalition. State Rep. Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz, who owns the restaurant and serves as a chairwoman for the coalition, translated the entire program in Spanish so all those in attendance would understand.
  • Casey told the crowd that while he is immensely proud of what he has been able to do in the Senate, this fall’s election isn’t about that. It’s about what he will do in the future.
  • He said he would champion the rights of women to make their own medical decisions, the rights of voters by passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Bill and the rights of workers and their ability to organize.
  • He said he would tackle greedflation — a term he uses for corporations that jack up prices and rip off shoppers to maximize profits.
  • He said he would fight to lower prescription costs for all Americans.
