ABC27: “Dave McCormick’s Social Media Account Appeared to Mistake a News Report Involving a Shooting in Philadelphia, Mississippi for the City of Brotherly Love; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania”
PENNSYLVANIA – Connecticut hedge fund executive and mega-millionaire David McCormick could not tell the difference between Pennsylvania and Mississippi after he mistook a news report from Philadelphia, Mississippi – not Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
ABC27: Dave McCormick X post, confuses Philadelphia, Mississippi with Pennsylvania
- Pennsylvania U.S. Senate candidate Dave McCormick’s social media account appeared to mistake a news report involving a shooting in Philadelphia, Mississippi for the City of Brotherly Love; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
- The post was taken down several minutes after another account pointed out the story was from Mississippi.
- Maddy McDaniel, the Communications Director for Casey’s campaign, responded on X saying, “Dave, this story is from Philadelphia, Mississippi — not Philadelphia, PA” and shared a picture of a City of Philadelphia police car.
- McDaniel added in a subsequent statement “Since David McCormick lives in Connecticut, it’s not surprising he can’t tell the difference between Pennsylvania and Mississippi. We can help, Dave — Pennsylvania is the state that is going to reject you in November.”
- ABC27 has reached out to the McCormick campaign for comment regarding the post.
- McCormick has faced criticism from Democrats for his ties to Connecticut where he worked for several years at a hedge fund.
