PENNSYLVANIA – Yesterday, Senator Bob Casey’s accomplishments were spotlighted by former President Barack Obama during a rally in Pittsburgh.
NBC: Bob Casey campaign puts out ad featuring Barack Obama
- The Casey campaign is out with a new ad featuring one of the most popular political figures: former President Barack Obama.
- In the ad, Obama argues Casey would fight to hold big corporations accountable for “greedflation” with the goal of ensuring Pennsylvanians have more money in their pockets.
- “People are hurting right now. Meanwhile, corporations are raking in record profits. My friend Bob Casey is fighting back,” Obama says straight to the camera.
- Obama praises Casey for capping the price of insulin, lowering the price of more prescription drugs and pushing for a child care tax credit. He says Casey is guided by “faith and family,” adding, “He is Pennsylvania through and through.”
- Obama was introduced by U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, a Democrat who is in a competitive race to keep his seat against Republican businessman Dave McCormick. Obama praised Casey as a public servant who was humble and “rooted in his community.”
- Obama has supported other Democrats in the 2024 election cycle. On Thursday, Casey released an ad featuring Obama, where he praises Casey’s fight against corporate price gouging or “greedflation.”

- The former president’s appearance also aimed to bolster the reelection campaign of Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey, who introduced and appeared on stage alongside Obama. Casey is being challenged by Trump-endorsed Republican David McCormick.
- Casey himself spoke, laying out the stakes for the upcoming election and denouncing his rival, David McCormick. McCormick, a businessman, ran the world’s largest hedge fund while it managed and advised funds holding hundreds of millions of dollars in Russian debt, documents obtained by the Guardian show.
