FACT CHECK: Bob Casey is Committed to Securing the Southern Border and Cracking Down on the Fentanyl Crisis
PENNSYLVANIA — Senator Casey is working hand in hand with law enforcement to stop the flow of fentanyl, and has passed bipartisan legislation to sanction Chinese fentanyl producers. Meanwhile, David McCormick invested millions in China’s largest producer of fentanyl and even opposed a bipartisan border deal that would’ve helped prevent fentanyl from being trafficked across our border.
FACT: Senator Casey has worked across the aisle to stop the illegal spread of fentanyl from China and other countries, and to provide the resources necessary to track and detect fentanyl.
- Casey co-sponsored and worked with Republicans to pass the bipartisan STOP Act, which was signed into law by President Trump, and which required the U.S. Postal Service to use an advanced data tracking system to combat the smuggling of fentanyl and other drugs from China.
