Back to News

PENNSYLVANIA – Senator Bob Casey won tonight’s debate, calling out David McCormick’s dishonest record from lying about living in Pennsylvania when he was living in Connecticut, to saying the overturning of Roe v. Wade made him “very, very happy,” to investing millions in a website that platforms hate and antisemitism.

See Below for Key Moments from Tonight’s Debate:

  • WATCH: Bob Casey on fighting corporate greed: “First of all, prices are too high, especially when you go to the grocery store to buy food or household items, items that people need every week or at least every other week. And these big conglomerates, these big corporations, rig those prices and jack them up to levels we’ve never seen, all while they were getting record profits. That’s greedflation, we can take it on by passing a price gouging bill to go after those companies, hold them accountable. [McCormick’s] defending them […] he’s perfectly fine with having price gouging. I want to take them on and hold them accountable.”
  • WATCH: Bob Casey on McCormick’s dangerous anti-choice agenda:  “I don’t support Republican efforts to ban abortion across the country, but just remember what Mr. McCormick just said […] But when the decision was made to overturn Roe, his reaction was that that decision made him, quote, “Very, very happy,” unquote. So, that’s where he’s been on this issue. And when you talk about bans in other states, a woman in Florida hemorrhaging before she had to go on a ventilator before her life was saved. I don’t think we want to see that in Pennsylvania.”
  • WATCH: Bob Casey on McCormick lying about where he lives:  “We’re supposed to believe this person who lied to the people of our state about where he lives?”
  • WATCH: Bob Casey on McCormick’s investments in a website that platforms hate and antisemitism: “Well, when it comes to the question of moral clarity, here’s what my opponent did with his own money. He invested his own money, millions of dollars, in a website that platforms hate, Holocaust denial and anti-semitism. That’s his money. And he’s making money off of that. At least $100,000 he’s made off of that investment. ”
