ICYMI: WESB: Casey urges hard line with China on fentanyl, Hamas
- As Administration officials meet with Chinese leaders today, U.S. Senator Bob Casey is calling for a hard line stance on multiple issues.
- Casey sent a letter to President Biden yesterday, urging a focus on the fentanyl crisis and the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
- In the letter, Casey says that while Mexican cartels are responsible for the manufacture of Fentanyl smuggled into the U.S., they rely on Chinese-sourced materials for that manufacture, and urged the President to insist upon China’s co-operation in addressing the crisis.
- Casey also asked the President to raise concerns about China’s failure to condemn the “horrific slaughter of civilians and taking of hostages” by Hamas.
