More than 30 Veteran Leaders Across Pennsylvania Join “Veterans for Casey” in Support of Bob Casey’s Re-Election Campaign

Bob Casey Has Fought for Veterans’ Benefits, Health Care, and Recognition Throughout His Time in the Senate

PENNSYLVANIA — More than 30 veteran leaders from across Pennsylvania are coming together to launch the Veterans for Casey coalition, a group of former service members dedicated to reelecting Senator Casey. Senator Casey has long been a champion for those who have served our country.

Senator Casey not only successfully fought to pass the Honoring our PACT Act, he also wrote and passed the bipartisan ABLE Age Adjustment Act, and worked across the aisle on the Honoring Purple Heart Recipients Act.

The coalition includes servicemembers from multiple branches of the military and elected officials from Pennsylvania’s Congressional delegation, including Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Congressman Chris Deluzio (PA-17), former Congressman Patrick Murphy, former Congressman Conor Lamb, and former Congressman Chris Carney.

Hear from some of the members of the Veterans from Casey coalition:

“To know Senator Casey is to know a true public servant’s heart, and that’s especially true when it comes to his relentless advocacy for veterans,” said Chrissy Houlahan, a retired Air Force Captain and Congresswoman for Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District. “He is one of the fiercest veteran advocates in Congress, expanding health care benefits, championing mental health initiatives and more. As a veteran myself, I can unequivocally say no one in this race will work harder for those who have worn the uniform than Senator Casey.”

“Our government has a sacred duty to care for my fellow veterans,” said Chris Deluzio, Iraq War veteran and Congressman for Pennsylvania’s 17th District. “Through his words and actions, Senator Bob Casey has shown time and time again that he will be there for us. Whether it’s defending VA healthcare and services, fighting veteran suicide and homelessness, and so much more, he’s been standing up for veterans. I know he’ll keep doing the same as our Senator from PA.”

“As the 32nd Under Secretary of the Army and previously in the US Congress, I saw firsthand how Senator Casey became a champion for my brother and sister veterans,” said Patrick Murphy, 32nd U.S. Army Under Secretary and former Congressman for Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District. “Whether it was the Post 9/11 Bill or PACT Act, he’s helped improve veterans’ lives both in our commonwealth and across the country. Having Senator Casey in the U.S. Senate makes all the difference for our veteran community.”

“Senator Casey not only cares about our veterans, but he has what it takes to actually get things done,” said Amber Viola, United States Navy veteran from Lackawanna County. “With so much gridlock and bickering in Washington, we need someone like him who is able to deliver for our community.”

“Senator Casey has shown he doesn’t just say ‘Support the Troops’- he actually does it,” said Lindsey Scott, United States Army veteran from the Erie area. “Passage of the PACT Act and funding cost of living increases for disabled veterans benefits are just two ways in the last year that he’s shown up for veterans like me. Pennsylvania veterans need Bob Casey to keep having our backs in the US Senate.”

“It’s easy to talk about the importance of helping veterans, but so many politicians fail to use their power to truly fight for us,” said Jack Inacker, United States Air Force veteran from the Philadelphia area. “Senator Casey has been a champion for veterans for almost two decades. He has fought to protect our health care, our benefits, and the resources so many in our community need. He is who we need in the Senate.”

“Senator Casey wrote and passed the bipartisan ABLE Age Adjustment Act which will allow more than one million disabled veterans to save money without risking their federal disability benefits,” said David Correll, United States Army veteran from the Allentown area. “This will change the lives of so many people who sacrificed for our country. It means the world to have a senator who we know will fight for the people who fought for our country.”
