Senator Casey: “I’m Unabashed in Taking the Side of Workers Because Workers Are the Reason That We Have the Strength in Our Economy”
PENNSYLVANIA — On Monday, Senator Casey was joined by Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar and over 100 members of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters in Pittsburgh to highlight his support for organized labor.

- Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. Bob Casey rallied with over 100 union carpenters and apprentices Monday morning, touting their work in Western Pennsylvania and around the country.
- Casey, of Scranton, pledged his support for organized labor, opposing tax cuts for billionaires, and emphasized his desire for increased border patrol agents at the U.S. Southern border.
- He said McCormick’s deception means Pennsylvania workers shouldn’t trust him, and claimed that he won’t support the workers right to unionize and said McCormick wants to repeal the $1.2 trillion Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that has led to work for local carpenters and other trades union members at the Pittsburgh International Airport, bridge repair projects, and at renovations for the Montgomery Locks and Dam in Beaver County.
- “He didn’t come from nothing. You shouldn’t lie about that if you seek to represent the people of Pennsylvania.”
- Pennsylvania building trades unions, including the carpenters and those in the state’s energy sector, have all endorsed Casey.

- As Election Day creeps closer, Casey pointed out how the union vote will impact not only his race against Dave McCormick, but the presidential race as well.
- “Working men and women are going to be, if not the decisive vote in the state, the real factors to decide in my race and the presidential race. I do think that, when it comes to support, the support of unions has never been more significant than it is today because unions do a really good job of talking to their members about issues that are most important,” Casey said.
