Bob Casey to Campaign in Pittsburgh on October 9, After McCormick Refused Pittsburgh Debate
McCormick Refused Debate at Station Which Has Held Every General Election Pittsburgh Senate Debate for Over a Decade
PENNSYLVANIA – David McCormick has refused to accept KDKA’s invitation to debate in Pittsburgh on October 9. To ensure Pittsburgh voters get the information on the Pennsylvania Senate race that they deserve, Senator Casey will use this time to sit for an interview with KDKA’s Jon Delano, and host a Pittsburgh campaign event.
Tiernan Donohue, campaign manager for Bob Casey for Senate, made the following statement:
“Pennsylvania has a rich tradition of political debates. Unfortunately, David McCormick has refused to participate in a scheduled debate in Pittsburgh at the station which has held every general election Pittsburgh Senate debate for over a decade. We can only assume McCormick declined this invitation because he spent too much time in Connecticut to know this history. In the last weeks of this election, Bob Casey will continue to make his case for re-election to the people of Southwestern Pennsylvania, including on the day he was hoping to debate in Pittsburgh.”
